Riley County and K-State Police Departments are working in conjunction to identify a suspect wanted in connection with a series of lewd acts on campus and in the community. A picture of the individual in question can be viewed here.


 

A Manhattan man was arrested on Thursday evening while at the Riley County Law Enforcement Center on various drug charges. Kenneth Ray Brown, 52, was taken into custody around 6 p.m. and charged with three counts of sale and distribution of stimulants, two counts of conspiracy to make a sale, and four counts of using a communication device. Bond was set at $33,000.


 

A Junction City man was taken into custody around 3:15 pm Thursday afternoon in the 400 block of Fort Riley Boulevard. Edward Wilson Houston, Jr. was arrested and charged with two counts of selling and distributing stimulants, possession of opiates or narcotics, fleeing and eluding, use and possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of using a communication device. Houston’s bond was set at $41,000.


Police and emergency crews responded to a single vehicle collision in the 7500 block of Blue River Hills Road on Thursday evening at approximately 8:15 p.m. Officers found that a 1997 Ford Explorer driven by Marvin Hatch, 68, of Manhattan had attempted to avoid striking a deer when it lost control and collided with a guard rail. The vehicle then rolled and went over the guard rail coming to rest downhill from the road. Hatch was transported to Via Christi for medical evaluation as a result. Officers continue to investigate this accident.
