
ONAGA, Kan. — One person was killed Sunday as the result of a UTV accident in rural Pottawatomie County Sunday.
The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office says it was notified of an injury accident reported in the area of Onaga Road and Crevecoeur Road, north of Onaga shortly before 5 a.m. Sunday morning. Emergency officials located an overturned vehicle in a ditch which had been occupied by three people.
An investigation determined the vehicle was northbound on Onaga Road when it entered the ditch and overturned. The driver, identified as 55-year-old Brad Marten of Onaga died at the scene. Authorities say 49-year-old Tony Kuehl of Hoyt was transported by EMS for injuries and 37-year-old Preston Simmons of Onaga was seen by EMS and released.
The vehicle had been traveling northbound on Onaga Road when it left the roadway and entered into the west ditch causing it to overturn. Brad Marten, 55 of Onaga who was identified as the driver of the UTV died at the scene. Tony Kuehl, 49 of Hoyt KS was transported by EMS for injuries and Preston Simmons, 37 of Onaga was treated at the scene and released.
