The Riley County Police Department is investigating two vehicle thefts reported Friday in Manhattan.
In the first case, officers filed a report around 12:28 p.m. Nov. 14 in the 5000 block of Skyway Drive. Hertz Rental was listed as the victim after a known 42-year-old woman allegedly failed to return a 2025 Nissan Altima that had been rented from the company. The total estimated loss is $25,000.
In a separate incident, officers filed a report around 10:46 a.m. the same day in the 1700 block of Airport Road. A 40-year-old woman reported that a 30-year-old man known to her took a 2019 Honda CR-V from a rental car parking lot without permission. The vehicle’s value was estimated at $12,000.
