The local branch of the NAACP this week called on K-State to take action after an unidentified person appeared on campus reportedly wearing blackface and holding a sign with a racial slur.
A photo sent by the group showed a person sitting on Bosco Student Plaza next to a sign that said, “Say (n-word) win candy.” (The sign used the full slur.) It was not clear from the photo who the person was or whether the person was a student.
The Manhattan chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People said it had received reported that the person was a white student wearing blackface. That was not clear from the photo.
