Another Manhattan man has been sentenced to nearly five years with the Kansas Department of Corrections in connection with a series of robberies in the central portion of Manhattan in September of last year. Sean Johnson was sentenced to 59 months for aggravated robbery Monday in Riley County District Court, the same as Jonathon Elliott, 20, was sentenced this past Friday.
As KMAN reported Friday, Elliott’s defense attorney had made a motion for departure and hoped for probation, but Judge David Stutzman told him his mistakes must be answered to.
Also sentenced last month in connection with the case was Janir Vega, 17, who also received 59 months with the Department of Corrections.
The robberies last year received a lot of attention, with the K-State campus under lockdown during the early morning hours of the robberies.
