The investigation into a Tuesday morning fire at a Junction City apartment complex has concluded.
Interim Junction City Fire Chief, Richard Rook said Thursday an “extensive investigation” has revealed the fire started on an outside deck, appearing to have rapidly spread to other exposed areas and into the attic.
The roof area became engulfed, resulting in a structural collapse that involved the entire third floor.
The fire’s cause remains undetermined and a dollar amount of the loss is unknown.
A total of 51 people have been displaced as a result of the blaze.
Fire crews from Manhattan were on the scene Tuesday.
