JUNCTION CITY — A former coach at USD 473 in Chapman has been arrested by the Geary County Sheriff’s Office.
After a three week long investigation, the sheriff’s office arrested 26-year old Mark Snider of Abilene on Thursday. Snider is charged with five counts of electronic solicitation and attempted sexual exploitation of a child under 16 years of age.
Snider was a basketball and track coach for the Chapman school district prior to his resignation at a board meeting last month.
Snider was arrested by Dickinson county authorities and transported to the Geary County Detention Center where he is being held without bond, pending his first appearance.
The Geary County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate this matter to determine if there are any other victims involved.
