Manhattan City Commissioners Tuesday approved an ordinance setting regulations and fees for the Aggieville Parking garage starting in January – though an amendment setting hour limits will return for commission approval later this year.

Plans approved on first reading set a tentative parking price of 2 dollars per hour after the first hour – which is free. After requests by Aggieville representatives at that meeting, commissioners questioned the financial impact of increasing the free parking time in the garage – which came in at 53 thousand dollars per year per additional hour.

After discussion, commissioners approved the ordinance with an amendment to return extending free parking to 2 hours while also reducing on-street parking from the proposed 3 to 2 hours as well. Commissioner Wynn Butler –
