64th district representative Suzi Carlson was arrested on DUI charges late Monday, according to police records.

Shawnee County’s daily booking report shows the Republican lawmaker was booked into the Shawnee County Detention Center at 11 p.m. January 31, posting 2 thousand dollars bond about 3 hours later. Police allege Carlson recorded a blood alcohol level of .08 or greater after failing to maintain her lane while driving in Topeka.

The Clay Center-based elected official has a court date set for March 1st. Carlson was elected to the Kansas House in 2019, and is a retired city judge. She holds no leadership positions in the legislature.

House District 64 constitutes most of Clay County including Clay Center as well as a significant portion of Riley County.
