Riley County needs to grow its population, businesses and tax base rather than continually asking existing property owners to pay more, Democrat Riley County commission candidate Rob Voelker says.
Voelker joined Within Reason Tuesday with Mike Matson on News Radio KMAN. He is challenging Republican incumbent John Ford for the District 1 seat on the Riley County Commission. The seat is the only commission position on the ballot this year.
A former sports director for News Radio KMAN, Voelker said he decided to run after becoming increasingly interested in local government.
