A man arrested for domestic battery and two warrants for probation violation will have his preliminary hearing on May 23 at 10 a.m., according to Pottawatomie County Attorney Sherri Schuck.

According to a report released Feb. 2 by the Saint George Police Department, officers were dispatched to 220 6th St. in Saint George for a physical domestic disturbance in progress.

While en route, officers were advised David Zarger was armed with a baseball bat. Police arrived within 20-seconds, according to the report, and upon arrival, the parties were separated and an investigation ensued.

Zarger was confined in the Pottawatomie County Jail on a bond of over $10,000.

Also, a man arrested in February for stealing car and lawn tractor batteries in Louisville will now be charged with a felony.

Shuck said William Eichem’s attorney withdrew from the case and will have a status hearing on April 4.
