Riley County Police found a 25-year-old Fort Riley man dead inside a vehicle Saturday at approximately 9:44AM. Police responded to Anneberg Park in Manhattan for the report of a deceased male inside a vehicle and located Shaun P. Covington dead inside his parked vehicle with an apparent gun shot wound.

Police do not suspect any foul play and the investigation is on-going at this time.

In other RCPD news Monday, as previously announced by KMAN Sangla Stevens, 26, of Manhattan was arrested Saturday at the Riley County Police Department on an outstanding arrest warrant for the offenses of rape, aggravated battery, criminal threat, domestic battery, and criminal restraint. Stevens’ bond was set at $250,000.

The arrest warrant stems from an incident that occurred on October 31st of last year in Manhattan involving a 23-year-old female. In addition to the previously mentioned arrest warrant, Stevens was also arrested on a probation violation warrant with a bond of $10,000.

A Georgia man was taken into custody by Riley County Police the end of last week. As previously announced Alvie Morton, 45, was arrested Friday at 9:45PM at the Riley County Police Department on two outstanding arrest warrants.

The first warrant was a probation violation warrant issued by the Riley County District Court with a bond of $1,000. The second warrant was a failure to appear warrant issued by the Riley County District Court with a bond of $8,000.

A report of theft was filed at 2812 Marlatt Avenue in Manhattan on March 20, 2016 at approximately 2:40PM for an incident that occurred sometime during the week prior. The unknown suspect(s) came onto the property and stole a 4’x10′ enclosed Haul brand pull behind trailer that contained numerous items of camping gear. The total loss is estimated at $3,360.

A report of a burglary was filed at 1839 Hunting Avenue in Manhattan on March 20, 2016 at approximately 11:42AM for an incident that had occurred sometime in the past two days. The unknown suspect(s) entered a detached garage on the premise and stole various lawn care and camping items. The total loss is estimated at $1,350.

A report of a motor vehicle theft was filed at 1111 Vattier Street in Manhattan on March 19, 2016 at approximately 3:54PM for an incident that occurred sometime in the past two weeks. The vehicle that is reportedly stolen is a black in color 2006 Chevy Impala valued at $8,500.
