A former staffer for U.S. representative Todd Tiarht was convicted of sodomy earlier this week.
 A bench trial was held for Jase Stanton on Wednesday. Stanton was convicted of one count of criminal sodomy. Sentencing is set for February 27, 2017, in Div. II court at the Riley County Courthouse. Stanton, who has been registered as a sex offender since 2009, was arrested after being accused of sexually assaulting two men in June of 2015 in Manhattan.

The State was represented by Bethany Fields, Deputy Riley County Attorney, and Barry Disney, Senior Deputy Riley County Attorney. The Defendant was represented by John Thurston and Brandon Katt.
