The Director of the Ogden Friendship House of Hope is retiring and a ceremony is planned in the community to send her off.

For more than 30 years, the Friendship House has helped the at-risk community of Ogden by providing assistance and guidance to those in need. The Current Director Diana Chapel says it is a place of refuge for the community members who need it.

Current Director Diana Chapel may be leaving her role with the Friendship House, but she is continuing on as Pastor of the Ogden United Methodist Church — of which the Friendship House is a mission. Chapel spoke with KMAN and says she looks forward to spending more time with her family.

Chapel also says she has loved working for her community. They operate a thrift store open to the public and use donations and revenue to operate a food pantry and provide emergency aid to residents of Ogden.

Chapel will be replaced by Cathy Austin, who began as an intern with the House for the past two years.
