Funeral arrangements are set for the former Director of the Flint Hills Breadbasket in Manhattan.

Shirley Bramhall will be laid to rest Thursday in Vermillion, Kan. Services will take place at 1:30 p.m. at the Vermillion School with pastor Tom Walters officiating. Interment will follow in the Vermillion Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home. (Read Shirley’s full obituary here)

Bramhall died April 9 at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. She was 66 years old. Bramhall worked for Kansas State Travel and booked many of the trips for Kansas Farm Bureau. For 17 years she also served as the Director of the Flint Hills Breadbasket and according to many family and friends helped turn the food bank and distribution center into what it is today. She also worked for the Area Agency on Aging until her retirement.

Bramhall is survived by her husband Bob Bramhall of Manhattan and three children: Clay Bramhall and wife Anissa of St. George, Ryan Bramhall and wife Krista of Manhattan, and Faith Bramhall and wife Amanda of Shawnee. She’s also survived by two siblings, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
