After more than a decade of serving as Executive Director of the Governor’s Military Council, John Armbrust of Manhattan is resigning–although he’ll serve in the position through April. Armbrust announced on KMAN’s “In Focus” Thursday morning that he turned in his resignation Wednesday.
He says he has no health issues he’s aware of, but he just felt it was time.Armbrust adds he’s 69 years old and the Executive Director role is a high energy job. Armbrust admits it’s a job that takes a lot of time and effort, and while he doesn’t want to stop, he doesn’t feel he has the desire or energy to put in the time he thinks is required of the position.
Armbrust adds he’d like to step aside and get someone to replace him that has the desire and energy needed.
Armbrust has been the Executive director of the prominent group for a dozen years.
