This weekend in the Manhattan area features a multitude of events in addition to the Festival of Lights Christmas CarnivalFill the Ambulance and the 35th annual Fort Riley Tour of Homes.

Other festivities include the Holiday Luminary Walk at Sunset Zoo. The event will be both Saturday, December 1, and Sunday, December 2, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for children and kids 2 and under get in free — but tickets are limited to just 250 people per day.

Residents will also be having breakfast with Santa at the Flint Hills Discovery Center on Saturday, December 1st. In addition to a hot breakfast, the event features family photos with Santa, a scavenger hunt, ornament and gingerbread man decoration as well as live animal encounters. The breakfast is currently sold out.

The Kansas State University School of Music, Theatre, and Dance Choral Division will be hosting their holiday winter choir concert on Sunday, December 2 at 3 p.m. The concert will at First United Methodist Church and tickets will be $10. Deadline for ticket purchases is Friday, November 30.

The Jingle Bell Run will also be taking place on Sunday, December 2, at 4 p.m. starting and finishing at First Presbyterian Church. There will be a 5k timed run as well as a 1.5 mile fun run and walk and holiday attire is encouraged. Participation will cost $30 for the 1.5 mile and $35 for the 5k with proceeds benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of Manhattan. Tickets can be bought up to the day of the event. The fastest runners will receive a medal and the most festive participant will also be recognized.
