Image Courtesy Red Bow RecordsTyler, Texas may not be a hotbed of country music, but Joe Nichols feels right at home since moving there in 2009. The city is about halfway between Shreveport and Dallas, and Joe is a big fan of the way of life in Tyler.

He tells ABC News Radio, “They’re all, for the most part, good people down there. It’s a good way of life. The cost of living’s pretty good. Nothing to complain about. Like, I said, it’s a pretty awesome place.”

Once he’s done with a run of concerts, Joe’s tour bus takes him straight to Tyler for a little rest and relaxation with his wife, Heather, and their daughters.

“I travel so much anyway, going somewhere to relax doesn’t feel near as relaxing as just going to my house, my home, my couch, my bed, my yard,” Joe explains. “Those are things that kinda relax me and make me feel like, ‘OK, I can go [tour] some more after a few more days of this.'”

Joe is playing several shows with Lady Antebellum later this month. Go to JoeNichols.com for a full list of tour dates.
