K-State’s band hall at the Memorial Stadium field will be named in honor of its longtime bad director.
The new facility will be called the Tracz Family Band Hall, after Band Director and Professor of Music Frank Tracz.  It will provide the university’s marching band  with designated rehearsal, storage and office space next to the field where the band practices.
The request for this naming was submitted to the Kansas Board of Regents and approved on Wednesday.
The gift to name the band hall was made by Ward and Brenda Morgan. This donation, along with other philanthropic support, will fund the renovation, expected to begin in spring 2022 and be completed by the end of the year.
The Morgans have supported a variety of programs at K-State, from athletics to McCain Auditorium to the College of Business Administration.
Tracz is looking forward to the band’s equipment, offices and practice areas all in one location and said that the band hall has been a goal of his since he came to K-State in 1993.
