CMTKacey Musgraves deep friendship with Katy Perry will be on full display Friday night when their CMT Crossroads episode premieres. Though the pairing may seem a bit odd, Kacey insists she and Katy are more alike than you might think.
“If you look at it, she’s super whimsical, and I can be super whimsical with my light-up boots and my cactus and stuff,” Kacey says. “We’re songwriters, and the lyrics mean the most above all the fireworks.”
Fans tuning into the one-hour special will find the two collaborating on Katy’s hits “Roar” and “Teenage Dream” as well as Kacey’s “Merry Go ‘Round” and “Follow Your Arrow.” Covers of Bonnie Raitt‘s “I Can’t Make You Love Me” and Dolly Parton‘s “Here You Come Again” round out the set list.”
Kacey adds, “It’s gonna be so much fun. I can’t even wait, and we have a tour coming up in August — the Prismatic World Tour. So, it’s crazy!”
CMT Crossroads: Katy Perry and Kacey Musgraves premieres Friday night at 10 ET on CMT.
