Motorists traveling through Northern Riley County are advised to be aware of upcoming highway projects starting Friday.

KDOT is planning two connected projects amounting $2.3 million on U.S. 24 and U.S. 77 beginning August 14. Road crews from Manhattan’s Shilling Construction Co. will start resurfacing 77 at mile marker 194 and 24 at mile marker 194 near Randolph. The work will extend south on 24 to mile marker 311.

Travelers will be directed through the construction zone by flaggers and a pilot car. Expect delays of up to 15 minutes.

Construction is expected to wrap up late September. KDOT encourages drivers to be aware and obey warning signs when moving through the work zone. Learn more about planned projects at Kandrive.org or by calling 511.
