Sony Music NashvilleKenny Chesney performed a surprise pop-up concert Friday night in front of a small crowd of about 500 lucky fans at the Georgia Theatre in Athens, Georgia.
The concert was videotaped for the first installment of CMT’s new Instant Jam series, which premieres September 27. Each episode of Instant Jam will showcase live performances, and gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at the hours leading up to the concerts.
At Friday’s show, Chesney performed 23 songs, including two from his upcoming release The Big Revival, which is due out September 23. Kenny even covered Hank Williams Sr.‘s “Kaw Liga” and George Strait’s “Carried Away.”
