Image Courtesy Blue Chair/Sony Music NashvilleKenny Chesney is primed and ready to entertain his fans at the Flora-Bama Lounge on the Gulf Coast this Saturday. He hasn’t been on stage with his band in almost a year, so Kenny plans to keep the show loose and just have fun with it all.

He says, “We might not have a set list until that day, which is kind of cool ’cause we’re going to have a lot of new music we’re gonna play. Who knows. We’re gonna play for a while that day.”

Of course, Kenny is referring to songs from his upcoming album, The Big Revival, due out September 23. It’s been a while since Kenny recorded the vocals for that project, so he’s been working to get his vocal cords strong for the show.

“Your vocal cords are like a muscle,” Kenny explains. “It’s like anything else. If you don’t use ’em, they get weak.”

Kenny’s also going back over the lyrics to his biggest hits so he doesn’t forget the words on stage.

He says with a laugh,”I haven’t sang any of these songs in a year or over.”

While the Flora-Bama show is free, fans have to have wristbands to get into the show. Those passes were all claimed very quickly after becoming available online a few weeks back.

He says, “It made me feel so good that so many people wanted those wristbands. That they cared. It’s just gonna be a fun, fun, fun day of music and getting everybody together and just enjoying the atmosphere and the environment of the Flora-Bama.”

Of note, show organizers are asking fans without wristbands to stay away from the Flora-Bama this weekend. According to AL.com, the show will be taped for a TV special, so fans who can’t make it to the show can look forward to seeing highlights at a later date.
