The K-State Cycling Club held its second annual Cycling marathon which involves cycling for 11 straight hours.
in support of the Anthony Bates Foundation.
Vice President, Steven Howard says the club began the challenge two years ago after a life-changing cardiac event during which he had a very accelerated heartbeat.
Howard was able to recover and begin riding again and he says he’s been training all summer for this year’s event.
Howard stresses the importance of heart health and adds some conditions can go undiagnosed until disaster strikes. If you would like to get your heart checked, go to the Anthony Bates Foundation Heart Screening Sunday at the KSU Alumni Center. The screening is free and it could save your life.
