K-State’s Spring semester is set to begin Tuesday, Jan. 22, as will the university’s Week of Welcome festivities.

Students will be able to take part in activities every day of the week, running until Tuesday, Jan. 29. The week starts with a game of Hungry Hungry Humans in the Student Union courtyard from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A Jumbo Ball Pit will be in the Student Union courtyard from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday. Also taking place in the courtyard later that day is a Gift Basket Bingo, with multiple themed baskets available for winners. That takes place from 6 to 8 p.m.

Thursday’s activities include a game night hosted by the Beach Museum of Art. The East meets West Game Night will be held in the UMB Theater from 5 to 7 p.m. That night will also feature the 2019 Spring Activities Carnival in the Student Union. Students will be able to learn about more than 500 student organizations on campus from 6 to 8 p.m.

And then on Friday is “Free for All Friday,” where students can learn about the different departments on campus as well as pick up some giveaways and free refreshments. It runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Union courtyard.

A food drive for Cat’s Cupboard will run all week. Donations can be made at the Union Welcome Desk on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Participants of Hungry Hungry Humans, the Jumbo Ball Pit, Gift Basket Bingo and Free for All Friday will also be entered into a prize drawing. Those who donate to Cats’ Cupboard during the week will receive an entry for every item donated. Prizes include a Keurig Mini, Ozark Trail Cooler and Fatboy Lounger, a K-State fan pack, an Instant Pot, a Nintendo NES Classic Edition and controller, Beats X Wireless Earphones, an Amazon Echo and iHome Speaker/Clock, two hammocks and a giant jumbling tower, as well as a Kodak Mini 2 Instant Photo Printer.
