ABC RadioWe still don’t know when the much-anticipated third album from Old Dominion will be finished, but in the meantime, the CMA and ACM Vocal Group of the Year is giving fans a new track to tide them over. You can stream or download the song, “One Man Band,” now.

The romantic ballad takes OD into new territory, as it compares being alone to playing music all by yourself.

“‘One Man Band’ is the first true ‘love song’ we’ve ever released,” lead singer Matthew Ramsey points out. “One of the things we talk about the most in this band is how we can’t imagine being on this crazy ride alone. We have each other to celebrate the highs and get through the challenges with. It’s one of the best parts of being a BAND.”

“Sure, you can make music alone,” Matthew adds. “But if you find people you have a chemistry with, a whole new world opens up.”

“I think it’s the same with life and love,” he reflects. “You can go it alone. But sometimes there is another person out there that adds something to your ‘music’ that you would have never had on your own. That’s the show you want to take on the road. That’s what this song is about.”

“One Man Band” is one of the new songs you’ll hear as OD hits the road on their Make It Sweet Tour this weekend, stopping in Chicago and Bloomington, Illinois. They’re also playing the as-yet unreleased track “Smooth Sailing.”

You can check out the new video for “One Man Band” — which was shot in the studio and during tour rehearsals — on YouTube now.
