Manhattan City Commission will consider a possible annexation of land owned by Midwest Concrete Materials, Inc. near the Manhattan Regional Airport, when it meets Monday evening.

The city would annex the land, currently referred to as the “Landing Business Park”, so that it falls under the jurisdiction of the Manhattan Urban Area Planning Board and could then be developed for commercial use.

The commission will also consider an annexation agreement outlining additional annexation requirements for MCM Inc to best mitigate possible impact on nearby residential areas or erosion and sediment control issues.

Other agenda items of note include considering an ordinance that outlines the process of filling vacant city commission seats as well as a possible land purchase that would house a training facility for the Manhattan Fire Department near station 3.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. inside Manhattan City Hall.
