Manhattan Firefighters responded to a reported structure fire at 512 Stone Drive, apartment 3207, at about 7:20 Sunday evening. Deputy Fire Chief Ryan Almes tells KMAN crews found a fire that had been mostly extinguished by neighbors on the deck of the apartment.
Fire Crews had to remove siding and decking to fully extinguish the fire, and then ventilate the adjoining apartments. Discarded smoking materials is suspected as the cause. $10,000 damage was reported.
Owners are listed as Highland Ridge Partners II LLC out of Overland Park, Ks.
