A Manhattan man has been arrested in the case of his wife’s stabbing death in Mississippi.
Riley County police took 34-year-old Edward Alexander Broom, into custody Tuesday on a warrant for extradition to Leflore County, Mississippi.
Broom was indicted there Monday on a capital murder charge in the death of his wife, 29-year-old Lakeyla Broom who was found dead in her Greenwood, Mississippi when a man called 911 saying that he had been tied up and stabbed.
Police then found Broom tied up in a bedroom, his wife’s body in another.
Greenwood Police Chief Ray Moore says authorities believe the crime scene to have been staged.
Broom moved to the Manhattan area following his wife’s murder.
