926The Manhattan Fire Department responded to a fire at an apartment building on Halloween night shortly after 7:30. Crews arrived at 926 Bluemont Ave. #9 for a report of an extinguished kitchen fire. Crews entered the apartment to ensure the fire was extinguished.

 

One resident of the apartment was home at the time, and was uninjured. The building has an estimated loss of $10,000 with an additional $100 in damage to contents in the apartment unit. The property management company is McCullough Development and the owner is listed as BHD, LLC. both of Manhattan.
The cause of the fire is listed as unattended cooking.
