“I want to apologize to my fans, family and my hometown community for placing myself in this situation,” the 29-year-old said in a statement. “I am so very sorry for the disappointment these events have caused everyone.”

“I know it will take time,” he continues, “however, I will do everything I can to rebuild your trust.”

The “Kiss You in the Morning” hitmaker was arrested after police answered a call at 3:34 a.m. after a minor accident in the drive-through of a local McDonald’s. Michael was arrested after police suspected him of DUI while investigating the incident. As they prepared to book him, they discovered a bottle cannabis oil in his pocket.
