Sales tax receipts for the city of Manhattan were up a little this past December, according to numbers released Tuesday afternoon. $1,062,389 was reported in the February report, which actually reflects a couple months prior. The amount collected compares to $1,010,818 from the year before and is also more than the previous two years.
Manhattan Finance Director Bernie Hayen says it’s a  “Nice surprise to see a modest increase.” The monthly budget impact is $30,455 in additional revenue, although with the lower January showing the budget impact for the year so far is negative $8,430.
