Update 11 a.m. Thursday:

More details have been released on the motorcycle versus automobile collision that backed up Anderson traffic Wednesday afternoon.

25-year-old Khaled Naser of Manhattan was struck by a 2014 Chevy Travere while riding his Suzuki in the 2700 block of Anderson Avenue — near Jimmy John’s.

Naser was transported to Via Christi for treatment, scanner traffic indicated he had suffered an injury to his head.

The road was closed for nearly an hour while emergency responders handled the scene.

Original:

Motorists were asked to avoid the area of the 2700 block of Anderson Avenue in Manhattan due to an injury accident Wednesday just before 1 p.m. The roadway was back open again by 1:50 p.m.

Traffic was backed up in both directions and diverted to other routes as a result of a collision between a motorcycle and an automobile. An alert from the Northeast Kansas Regional Notification Center reports that two separate incidents occurred in the same vicinity.
