Riley County Police arrested Bronta Costello, 30, of Wichita while in the 100 block of Courthouse Plaza in Manhattan on January 21st at approximately 12:15 PM. Costello was arrested on a warrant for two counts of the offense of possession of an opiate, opium, or narcotic drugs. Costello’s bond was set at $10,000 and at the time of this report was no longer confined at the Riley County Jail.
Lawrence Prawl, 55, became the victim of a motor vehicle theft on January 21st. Police filed a report for the theft in the 3300 block of Mineral Springs Spur after being made aware of a white two-door 1999 Pontiac Grand Am with Kansas plates, valued at approximately $5,000, that had gone missing. The Riley County Police are investigating a stolen Ford Econo Van that contained personal items and US currency belonging to Jose Hernandez, 49, of Manhattan. This vehicle went missing while in the 1500 block of Oxford Place at approximately 5:00 to 5:30 PM on January 19th. In total, an estimated loss was listed as being $5,610 and officers are investigating suspects.
