The Pottawatomie County Commission is considering asking voters to levy a quarter-cent sales tax to fund road and bridge projects in the county.

Commissioner Greg Riat on KMAN’s In Focus Tuesday. The board is discussing a list of road projects that they would like to the see funding go towards, with some in Blue Township, near Onaga and Wheaton and Elm Slough (slew) Road among them.
Riat says continued growth in the county plays a role in the need to improve roadways countywide.

Riat notes that asking for a tax bump is tough given the current inflationary pressures on residents, but that those pressures are also affecting county operations.
