With conditions continuing to deteriorate across the area, the Riley County Police Department has announced that its Emergency Accident Reporting Phase (or EARP) is now in effect until further notice.

During this time, if there are no injuries to any involved parties, no hit and run, no DUI or alcohol or drug related crime, the public does not need to call RCPD immediately. Instead you can exchange insurance and contact information and get in touch with law enforcement when the conditions improve. This will ensure officers can be readily available for more serious incidents should they arise. All accidents must be reported in the following 48 hours.

A Blizzard Warning remains in effect for the entire area until 6 p.m. Sunday. Travel is not recommended.
