The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

Officers filed a report for sexual exploitation of a child in Manhattan on January 27, 2021, at approximately 10:39 a.m. Officers listed a 17-year-old female as the victim when it was reported an unknown male suspect asked for sexual favors and photographs in exchange for illegal narcotics. Due to the nature of this crime, no further information will be released.

Officers filed a report for burglary in the 4100 block of Spook Rock Way in Manhattan on January 27, 2021, at approximately 1:50 p.m. Officers listed a 27-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect entered his vehicle and stole a Glock 19 Generation 4 MOS 9mm handgun with a Vortex Viper red dot sight inside a custom American Flag Kydex holster. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $750.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

Officers filed a report for theft in the 300 block of Southwind Rd. in Manhattan on January 27, 2021, at approximately 2:24 p.m. Officers listed Arbys as the victim when it was reported a 59-year-old male suspect stole cash. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $533.00.
