The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

Officers filed a report for theft and criminal damage to property in the 600 block of S. 4th St. in Manhattan on January 7, 2021, at approximately 9:51 a.m. Officers listed a 69-year-old male as the victim when it was reported cut off a trailer lock and stole a Doolittle cargo trailer. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $3,515.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

Officers filed a report for aggravated domestic battery, battery, kidnapping, and intimidation of a victim in Manhattan on January 7, 2021, at approximately 4:40 p.m. Officers listed a 41-year-old female and a 39-year-old male as the victims when it was reported a 39-year-old male suspect injured and kidnapped the female and a 41-year-old female injured the male.
