Denzel Leonard, 22, of Manhattan was arrested on October 22, 2015 at approximately 11:00 AM while in the 2000 block of Tecumseh Road. Leonard was arrested for the offenses of violation of the Kansas Offender Registration Act, possession of a hallucinogenic drug, and use or possession of with intent to use drug paraphernalia. He was given a bond of $40,000.00 and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail.

A report for aggravated battery and battery was filed in the 600 block of N. 11th Street in Manhattan on October 23, 2015 at approximately 2:30 AM. Police responded to the location for a report of a fight that had occurred and left a victim, Alexander Schulze, 22, of Manhattan, injured and in need of medical assistance. Officers found that Schulze had sustained a significant injury to his ankle during a physical altercation with an unknown suspect. This injury occurred when Schulze was kicked causing a compound break. He was ultimately transported to Via Christi Hospital for treatment.

Officers with the Riley County Police Department are investigating a case of aggravated sexual battery and aggravated indecent liberties with a child involving one female victim currently 18-years-old. These crimes occurred on multiple occasions between the summer of 2011 and last year in the city limits of Manhattan. The suspect is known to the victim and is a middle-aged adult. Due to nature of these crimes no further information was released.
