Nicholas Wood, 26, of Manhattan was arrested while at the Riley County Courthouse Plaza on November 20, 2015 at approximately 10:20 AM. He was given “no bond” when arrested on a warrant for probation violation from Wabaunsee County, Kansas.

Christian Porter, 23, listed as homeless was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department on November 20, 2015 at approximately 10:45 AM for the offenses of aggravated arson, burglary, and criminal damage to property. He was given a bond of $11,000.00 and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail. Police responded to a complaint of a ransacked apartment in the city limits of Manhattan and found rotten food, several small items set aflame, broken glass, and damaged items totaling a loss of an unknown amount at the time of this report. This crime occurred on November 14, 2015 between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM and is domestic related (due to its domestic nature victim information has been withheld). ‘

Police arrested Sarah Burns, 31, of Manhattan on November 20, 2015 at approximately 12:10 PM on a warrant for failure to appear from Allen County, Kansas. Burns was arrested in the 2500 block of Candle Crest Circle and was given a bond of $5,180.00 (totaled between two warrants).

Officers with the Riley County Police Department arrested Piyush Patil, 19, of Manhattan on a warrant for aggravated battery (DUI causing bodily harm) on November 20, 2015. Patil was arrested at approximately 6:40 PM while in the 1100 block of Laramie Street and at the time of this report was no longer confined at the Riley County Jail. This warrant was a result of an investigation into a vehicle collision in September of this year. Pital was given a bond of $5,000.00.

A report was filed in the city limits of Manhattan for the offense of violation of a protective order and criminal trespass. This report was filed on November 20, 2015 at approximately 9:20 PM and involved a 41-year-old female victim. Police arrested Jack Lindley, 35, of Manhattan for the aforementioned offenses giving him “no bond.” Due to the domestic nature of this investigation no further information has been released.

The Riley County Police Department is investigating a report of aggravated indecent liberties with a child after being made aware of a consensual sexual encounter between an 18-year-old male and a 14-year-old female. Due to the age of the female this encounter was deemed a criminal act and took place in the city limits of Manhattan, Kansas between September and November of this year. Due to the sensitive nature of this crime no further information has been released.

RCPD filed a report and is currently investigating an aggravated arson, theft, and criminal damage to property incident which occurred in the city limits of Ogden, Kansas between November 17, 2015 and November 21, 2015. Police found that a 21-year-old female became the victim of these crimes when a 23-year-old male suspect destroyed items in the victim’s residence. Mail was also removed without the victim’s permission and officers on scene found that the victim’s bed had also been ignited. Police noted just under $2,000.00 worth of damage to the victim’s property. No arrests had been at the time of this report and officers continue to investigate the matter. Due to the domestic nature of this investigation no further information has been released.

Sherri Henson, 47, of Council Grove, Kansas was arrested on November 21, 2015 at approximately 10:40 PM on a warrant for driving while under the influence of drugs or combination of drugs. She was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department and given a bond of $5,000.00. At the time of this report she was confined at the Riley County Jail. This warrant stemmed from an incident which occurred in May of this year.

The Riley County Police Department responded to a report of an unknown male in a home that he did not belong in. This report was taken in the 500 block of Moro Street on November 22, 2015 at approximately 3:30 AM and involved a black male standing approximately 6 feet tall with average build. This suspect was wearing dark colored clothing and entered a home for unknown reasons. The home was occupied by three individuals (a 30-year-old female, a 32-year-old male, and a 28-year-old male) at the time of this criminal trespass. Police ask that anyone with information on this incident contact the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers or RCPD directly.
