The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. –

Officers filed a report for aggravated battery and battery in the 1300 block of Marlatt Ave. in Manhattan on February 17, 2020, at approximately 3:15 PM. Officers listed a 31-year-old male and a 15-year-old male as both the victim and the suspects in a physical altercation.

Officers filed a report for theft of mislaid property in the 100 block of Bluemont Ave. in Manhattan on February 17, 2020, at approximately 5:40 PM. Officers listed Flint Hills Hospitality as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect took a bag containing money. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $6,059.00.  Police ask that anyone with information please contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Officers filed a report for aggravated assault and battery in the 500 block of Edgerton Ave. in Manhattan on February 17, 2020, at approximately 5:50 PM. Officers listed a 36-year-old female as the victim when she reported a  16-year-old female known to her assaulted her.

Officers filed a report for theft from motor vehicle in the 1000 block of Garden Way in Manhattan on February 17, 2020, at approximately 11:40 PM. Officers listed a 67-year-old female as the victim when she reported an unknown suspect took her easy lift trailer hitch. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $500.00. Police ask that anyone with information please contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Officers filed a report for aggravated child endangerment, child abuse, and domestic battery in Manhattan on February 18, 2020, at approximately 3:05 AM. Officers listed a 33-year-old male and an infant as the victims and a 28-year-old female as the suspect. Due to the nature of the crime reported (domestic), no additional information will be released.
