The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

Officers filed a report for domestic battery, aggravated assault, criminal damage to property, interference with LEO, and operating a motor vehicle without a valid license in Manhattan on March 23, 2021, at approximately 10:19 a.m. Officers listed a 32-year-old female and a 33-year-old male as the victims when it was reported a 32-year-old female suspect damaged property and battered the 33-year-old male victim and a 33-year-old male suspect damaged property and battered the 32-year-old female victim and threatened her with a handgun. Jacques Toliver, 33, of Manhattan was arrested in connection on the offenses of domestic battery and interference with LEO. Toliver was issued a total bond of $2,000.00 and is no longer confined at the time of this report.

Officers filed a report for criminal use of a financial card in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Rd. in Manhattan on March 23, 2021, at approximately 11:25 a.m. Officers listed a 38-year-old male as the victim when it was reported a 35-year-old male suspect unlawfully used the victim’s credit card. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $3,800.00.

Officers filed a report for aggravated assault in the 2000 block of Little Kitten Ave. in Manhattan on March 23, 2021, at approximately 2:12 p.m. Officers listed 41- and 56-year-old females as the victims when it was reported a 51-year-old male suspect threatened them with a knife. Corey Mann, 51, of Manhattan was arrested in connection on the offense of aggravated assault. Mann is confined in the Riley County Jail on a total bond of $10,000.00.

Officers filed a report for burglary in the 600 block of Kearney St. in Manhattan on March 23, 2021, at approximately 6:34 p.m. Officers listed a 35-year-old female and a 35-year-old male as the victims when it was reported an unknown suspect broke into a detached garage and stole a black Epiphone SG G-400 guitar, a matte black Epiphone ES 335 guitar, a red LTD M300 FM guitar, a black LTD EXP 200 guitar, two Epiphone guitar cases, a Nintendo Wii, Nintendo Wii games, various fishing tackle, and luggage. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $3,594.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

Officers filed a report for domestic battery, criminal deprivation of property, and aggravated domestic battery in Manhattan on March 23, 2021, at approximately 7:53 p.m. Officers listed 22- and 55-year-old females and a 67-year-old male as the victims when it was reported a 22-year-old female suspect and a 67-year-old male suspect were in a physical altercation with the victims and a cell phone was kept from its owner.

Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of Casement Rd. and Brookmont Dr. in Manhattan on March 24, 2021, at approximately 1:12 a.m. When officers arrived on scene they found a 2007 Lincoln MKZ driven by Trae Jones, 25, of Sterling, Kan. had left the roadway, struck a guard rail, and flipped into a drainage ditch. Jones was transported to Stormont Vail in Topeka for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
