The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

Officers filed a report for rape in Ogden on March 5, 2021, at approximately 12:32 p.m. Officers listed a 15-year-old female as the victim and an 18-year-old male as the suspect. Due to the nature of this crime, no further information will be released.

Officers filed a report for theft in the 100 block of Sarber Ln. in Manhattan on March 5, 2021, at approximately 3:37 p.m. Officers listed Dillons as the victim when it was reported a 34-year-old female suspect stole approximately $5,000.00.

Officers responded to the report of an injury accident in the 600 block of E. Poyntz Ave. in Manhattan on March 6, 2021, at approximately 9:20 a.m. When officers arrived on scene they found a 2021 Honda Odyssey driven by Jodi Henkel, 42, of Wamego had struck a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Cristy Ukene, 39, of St. George after Henkel experienced a medical emergency while driving. Henkel was transported to Via Christi for treatment of her injuries.

Officers filed a report for attempted aggravated assault and criminal damage to property near the intersection of Tuttle Creek Blvd. and Bluemont Ave. in Manhattan on March 6, 2021, at approximately 12:37 p.m. Officers listed a 20-year-old male as the victim when it was reported a 22-year-old male suspect struck the victim’s windshield with a tire iron. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $500.00.
