Benjamin Williams, 22, of Manhattan, was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department Monday at approximately 8:05 a.m. for the offense of burglary. He was given a bond of $5,000 and at the time of this report was no longer confined at the Riley County Jail. This arrest stems from a burglary that included rifles, knives, and more with a total value of over $1,200. Police listed Tyler Montgomery, 22, of Manhattan, as the victim in this investigation.
Officers with the Riley County Police Department filed a report for the offense of burglary in the 200 block of Hackberry Avenue in Manhattan on Monday at approximately 10:20 for an incident that occurred between the 7th and 11th of this month. Officers found that Brandon Hines, 27, of Manhattan, became the victim of burglary when a Glock 17 firearm was removed from his residence without his permission. The total estimated loss is approximately $375 and at the time of this report no arrests had been made. A burglary report was filed in the 1000 block of N. 8th Street in Manhattan on Monday at approximately 11 a.m. for a crime which occurred between March 18 and April 10 this year. Police listed Brandy Porter, 43, of Manhattan, as the victim after an air conditioning unit, a furnace, two dryers, and two washers were removed from a home that she rents to tenants. The total estimated loss if approximately $5,200 and at the time of this report officers continue to investigate the matter. Katrina Fair, 31, of Topeka, was arrested on a warrant for the offense of failure to appear with an original offense of aggravated endangering of a child on Monday at approximately 11:30 a.m. while in the 100 block of Courthouse Plaza. Fair was given a bond of $10,000 and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail.
RCPD arrested Jacob Vestweber, 19, of Manhattan, while in the 3700 block of Hawthorne Woods Circle in Manhattan. Vestweber was arrested on a warrant for the offense of probation violation with an original offense of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. He was given a bond of $5,000 and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail.
