The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. –

Officers filed a report for burglary and criminal trespass in the 5700 block of Saddle Rock Rd in Manhattan on July 14, 2020, at approximately 3:22 PM. Officers listed a 49-year-old female as the victim and a 65-year-old male known to her as the suspect when it was reported he entered her home and took a safe. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $150.00.

Officers filed a report for aggravated battery and interference with Law Enforcement Officer on July 14, 2020, at approximately 9:37 PM. Officers listed a 30-year-old male as the victim and a 25-year-old male and a 36-year-old female as the suspects when it was reported a male cut the victim with a knife during a physical altercation and a female interfered with the investigation. Both males were treated for minor injuries at Via Christi and later released. Due to the ongoing investigation, no additional information will be released.
