MANHATTAN, KAN. –
Officers filed a report for theft in the 1700 block of Fair Ln in Manhattan on September 24, 2020, at approximately 6:53 am. Officers listed a 35-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect took his Doolittle 10×6 trailer. Officers filed a report for burglary in the 300 block of Fort Riley Blvd in Manhattan on September 24, 2020, at approximately 7:59 am. Officers listed Golf USA as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect took miscellaneous drivers, fairways, and hybrid gold clubs. Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 400 block of Clydesdale Dr in Ogden on September 24, 2020, at approximately 4:12 pm. Officers listed Opportunities Unlimited as the victim and a 12-year-old male as the suspect when it was reported he damaged sheetrock and a DVD. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $500.00.
Officers filed a report for criminal trespass, attempted aggravated arson, and aggravated domestic assault in Manhattan on September 24, 2020, at approximately 8:04 pm. Officers listed a 25-year-old male and a 22-year-old female as the victims when it was reported a 37-year-old male went on their property without permission and attempted to start a fire. Jason Melton, 37, of Manhattan was arrested in connection on the offenses of attempted aggravated arson, criminal trespass, and aggravated domestic assault. Melton was issued a total bond of $50,000.00 causing him to remain confined at the time of this report.
