The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. –

Officers responded to a report of an injury crash in the 1600 block of Kimball Ave in Manhattan on September 2, 2020, at approximately 9:18 am. When officers arrived on scene they found a 2003 Yamaha Motorcycle, driven by Colton Gardiner, 28 of Manhattan had crashed. Gardiner was transported to Via Christi for treatment of his injuries.

Officers filed a report for theft in the 2800 block of Claflin Rd in Manhattan on September 2, 2020, at approximately 6:14 pm. Officers listed a 30-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect took his MacBook Pro. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,200.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Officers filed a report for theft in the 100 block of Bluemont Ave in Manhattan on September 2, 2020, at approximately 10:33 pm. Officers listed a 25-year-old female as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect took cash from her purse. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $742.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.
