Riley County Friday reported 12 new positive COVID-19 tests and 5 recoveries since Wednesday.

That brings the active case count to 121. Additionally, adding in 10 probable cases that have recovered makes 351 recoveries and 5 deaths of 447 confirmed cases reported since the pandemic was declared in March.

186 test are pending and 4,822 have tested negative. Overall, 5,485 tests have been administered.

Ascension Via Christi Hospital also reports no positive patients or patients with COVID-like symptoms awaiting test results are in its care. They were treating one patient as of Wednesday.

Riley County reported Thursday it is shifting to Monday, Wednesday and Friday written COVID updates as opposed to daily reports on weekdays. Officials say that is to align with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment’s briefing schedule in an effort to incorporate the latest information from the state in local updates. The county will continue live updates on Wednesday at 4:15 p.m. for the time being.

Those exhibiting symptoms should contact their health care provider and the Riley County Screening line at 785-232-6400. That’s staffed Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
