Riley County is reporting 15 new positive cases since Wednesday.
This brings the county’s total number of positive cases to 6,231 with 47 of those cases being active.  43 additional recoveries are also being reported bringing the county’s total to 6,151.
Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan is caring for one positive patient. No COVID positive patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
This week, the Health Department will work to complete Phase 2 as mandated by the state. This phase includes those who work in congregate settings and high-contact critical workers.
The number of fully vaccinated residents in the county has reached 4,344 with 5,628 residents receiving their first dose.
WellHealth is continuing testing, but will stop on Mar 20.  The county will continue their RADX saliva based testing in the county.  Local Health Officer Julie Gibbs says they are working to offer testing on a daily basis going forward.
Four vaccination clinics will be offered every week as long as shipments are regular and the health department has enough doses.  Gibbs says the county will also be receiving the Johnson and Johnson vaccine, but they do not know how many doses. They will be reserving those doses for the home-bound and homeless patients since it only requires one dose.
