“Somewhat boring, mostly flat” is the way Manhattan Finance Director Bernie Hayen describes February sales tax numbers for Manhattan. A little over a million dollars was collected this past month which is similar to last February’s numbers. Specifically $1,010,818 dollars in sales tax receipts came in last month compared to the slightly higher number of $1,028,934 in Feburary of 2015.
The February numbers were quite a bit higher than January’s $888,302, bringing year to date numbers to $1,899,120 million. The February amount was $10,820 above what had been budgeted.
